MacKenzie Myers Fitzpatrick was elected to the Bellefontaine City Council representing the Fourth Ward in November of 2023. MacKenzie spent most of her childhood in Bellefontaine, leaving soon after high school to complete her Bachelor’s of Science in Early Childhood Education at Kent State University. In 2015, she returned to Bellefontaine, spending her first year of teaching at Bellefontaine Elementary School as a second grade teacher. She has since spent time teaching in Dublin City Schools and began a journey of non-profit work in 2019. Working for the Logan County Art Center (housed in The Holland Theatre) and The Logan County Farmers Market, drove her already existing passion for community impact. In the fall of 2020, MacKenzie started Journey Nature School at Kirkmont Center (a nature immersive preschool alternative & homeschool supplement) with the help of local parents & the support of LoCo Art. She continues as School Manager and Program Director for the organization as it continues into another school year with Logan County families.
In addition to serving the community through education, art, and food, MacKenzie teaches yoga at Homegrown Yoga Downtown & serves families as a Full Spectrum Doula and Lactation Counselor. MacKenzie’s work and hobbies allow for time spent with her family and friends while connecting to great food and even better adventures.
